2015 Causeway Cup

Notre Dame Seminary won the Causeway Cup, an annual soccer game played against St. Joseph Seminary College, also known as St. Ben’s, on the Saturday afternoon of April 25th. Students of St. Ben’s, along with their rector, drove across the Causeway to meet the Notre Dame community at an indoor sports facility. The ball flew up far enough to touch the high ceiling (deemed out-of-bounds) several times, but the game was played out of the rain.

The score was close for most of the game, with Notre Dame pulling ahead by a few goals in the last minutes. The rectors of the two seminaries then led the teams and spectators in a closing prayer.

After the game, both seminaries met at Notre Dame’s chapel to pray evening prayer, and then ate a barbecue-style dinner around the seminary’s courtyard. After dinner, they moved to the tennis court for the annual Notre Dame-vs.-St. Ben’s volleyball game, in which Notre Dame won the second victory of the day. After another prayer, late in an eventful evening, St. Ben’s left to cross the Causeway once again.
