Bonfire Game 2015

On Friday, November 20th, a group of NDS seminarians took part in the annual St. Ben’s vs. Notre Dame Bonfire Game, an event that has brought the two seminaries together in a friendly game of flag football since the 1930’s. After a preceding Mass said on the St. Ben’s premises, the pious sportsmen competed once more for the legendary “Bonfire Champions” trophy, won by Notre Dame during last year’s game. This year NDS was victorious once more (40-34) despite fierce competition from St. Ben’s players. Live commentary provided by Cody Chatagnier and David LaPointe made the Archdiocesan livestream of the game, which can be viewed below, as entertaining as one might expect. The game was concluded with a blessing and closing statement from St. Ben rector/president Fr. Gregory Boquet, who later provided meals for players and seminarian game attendees in the refectory. After the meal, the bonfire was lit, concluding the evening.
