Feast of Christ the King

On Sunday, November 22nd, seminarians were led in prayer by Fr. Jim Wehner during the ceremony honoring the annual Feast of Christ the King. The ceremony uniquely involved the blessing of the newly renovated organ speaker system and was proceeded by Mass and the traditional procession in front of the seminary, pictured below. The Feast of Christ the King was instituted in 1925 under Pope Pius XI, making it a fairly recent entry to the liturgical calendar. It was part of his encyclical Quas primas, which chiefly addressed growing secularism in modern society.
