President's Letter

As we begin this new semester we have been blessed with a great group of new men ready to begin or continue their discernment about the priesthood of Jesus Christ. We have 35 new men, 2 returning seminarians, and 4 beginning a spiritual year this Fall! Our seminarians come from 12 dioceses and four religious communities this year. Thanks for your prayers in support of vocations to the priesthood!

Mission Statement

From its establishment by the Archdiocese of New Orleans, as a free-standing seminary in 1923 Notre Dame Seminary has, its primary mission, the preparation of men for ministerial priesthood in the Roman Catholic Church.  The seminary, through an integrated and balanced program of priestly formation, seeks to prepare pastors for the Church in the spirit of Jesus Christ, the Good Shepherd.  Read more...
