NDS hosted Saint Joseph Seminary for the third annual Causeway Cup Soccer Tournament. This year’s event was hosted at the NFL Saints Facility. Gayle and Tom Benson, owners of the Saints and very good friends to NDS, granted permission for us to use their indoor facility. Hundreds of NDS and Saint Ben supporters gathered on Saturday, April 23 for the competition. The Serra Club facilitated the use of soccer goals on loan from Jesuit High School. The game provided great fraternity and competition. The Saint Ben Ravens took the Cup with a close game. Following the game, all gathered at NDS for Vespers. Father Wehner presided offering words of encouragement as the semester comes to a close. We had cookout enjoying the campus of NDS on a beautiful NOLA evening. Then, the third annual Bayou Volleyball Classic was hosted in which NDS retained the Cup with a third straight victory. We thank the Lord for these ways in which our seminaries are able to enjoy fraternity, faith, and community.
