Institution of Acolytes 2016

The Rite of the Institution of Acolytes took place at Notre Dame Seminary in the chapel on October, 22. Bishop Robert W. Muench of the Diocese of Baton Rouge presided at the Mass. Those given the ministry of Acolyte serve at the altar during the Mass and other liturgical celebrations. Acolytes are able to purify sacred vessels and are extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion. The Acolytes at Notre Dame serve the seminary’s daily and weekend Masses. Each seminarian receiving the ministry of Acolyte were told by Bishop Muench, “Take this vessel with bread for the celebration of the Eucharist. Make your life worthy of your service at the table of the Lord and of his Church.” There were 27 seminarians installed as Acolytes: Atlanta – Mark White; Baton Rouge – Joseph Bass, John Vu; Bilouxi – Braxton James Necaise; Dallas – Aristeo Berrum, Desmond N. Ndikum, Juan Torres; Houma-Thibodaux -Brett Lapeyrouse, Patrick Riviere; Jackson – Andrew (Phuong Dang) Nguyen, Cesar Sanchez Fermin, Adolfo Suarez Pasillas; Lafayette – Salinger Alcocer-Istre, Matthew Ardoin, Donald Bernard, Randy Courville; Memphis – Gabriel Cisneros Campos, Juan Munoz-Terrasas  Missionary of Faith – Br. Ton Dang;  New Orleans – Doug Busch, Daniel Darmanin, Andrew Gutierrez, Andrew Rudmann, Luis Carlos Valencia-Osorio; Shreveport – Kevin Mues; Tyler – Martin Ahiaba
