NDS Assists with Padre Pio Visiting St. Rita

On Thursday, October 4, relics of Padre Pio came to St. Rita Church: a cotton gauze with blood stains, the crusts of the wounds of his stigmata, a glove which covered his stigmata, a handkerchief, a lock of hair, and his mantle.

Seminarians met at 7am for Morning Prayer as the relics were formally received into the church. Over the course of the day, an estimated 10,000 pilgrims came to venerate St. Pio’s relics. The 6pm Mass with Archbishop Aymond was packed with standing room only. The day closed with 9pm Night Prayer, at the end of which seminarians processed out of the church with the relics.

St. Pio, pray for us!
