NDS Hosts Vatican Relic of Saint John Paul II

The seminary community was able to observe the Solemnity of All Saints with the relic of Saint Pope John Paul II. The relic (a vial of blood mounted on an ornate book) was made available by the Sisters of the Servants of the Pierced Hearts of Jesus and Mary who have custody of the relic from the Holy See for a few months of devotion and reverence. The seminary received the relic during Solemn Vespers on the Eve of All Saints. The relic was made available for public veneration of the day of All Saints where hundreds of the local faithful paid a visit. Saint John Paul II was ordained a priest on the Feast of All Saints in 1946. Mother Adela, Foundress of the Sisters, addressed the seminary community before Solemn Vespers II when the relic was recessed from the chapel where the Sisters then took the relic for veneration by the students of LSU in Baton Rouge for All Souls Day.
