Commencement 2018

On Thursday, May 10, 2018, Notre Dame Seminary held its annual baccalaureate Mass and commencement exercises. Fr. James Wehner presided, and Fr. Justin Braun, former vocation director for the Diocese of Tyler, was the homilist. Fr. Braun urged graduates to take Mary as a model–particularly in her receptivity to God’s will which led to the great fruit of the salvation of the world. In the commencement exercises, Mr. Joseph C. Canizaro received an honorary Doctorate of Letters for his leadership in building up the seminary, particularly during its “I Will Give You Shepherds” campaign to seek out and retain the best possible faculty. In total, over 50 lay and seminarian graduates earned degrees in philosophy and theology. We warmly congratulate our graduates, especially those who are preparing for ordination in the coming weeks.
