Welcome Back Social

The first Friday since classes began ended with an evening social by the pool with the exceptionally creative theme of “New Orleans.” Seminarians were treated to traditional Cajun cuisine, drinks, and the celebrated egg toss competition. For the competition, seminarians were divided up by diocese and had to throw an egg between pairs of seminarians, gradually increasing the distance until the egg cracked in someone’s hands. South Louisiana (the dioceses of Lafayette, Houma-Thibodaux, and Lake Charles) came out victorious, but there were casualties of several dozen eggs along the way. The competition ended by throwing the party coordinator in the pool. No live chickens were harmed in the celebration of the party.
