Weekly Rosary with the Rector

The people of New Orleans and throughout the gulf south have a deep devotion to Our Lady of Prompt Succor who has interceded on behalf of the City of New Orleans in times of war, fires, hurricanes, floods, epidemics, and times of violence. The rector reminds us that devotion to Our Lady is not optional rather an essential dimension of priestly spirituality. As Our Lord entrusted Our Lady to the Church through Saint John and entrusts the Church to the Blessed Mother, the seminary invokes her each week as a community praying the Rosary before her image throughout the campus. Before COVID, we would also have Rosary Processions around the neighborhood. This past Fall we remained on campus but praying for those who have lost their lives to COVID, those who have lost jobs or experience financial stress, praying for those who have experienced devastation from hurricanes and storms, and praying for our nation as we have experienced social unrest.
