T4 Oath of Fidelity

On Sunday, January 30th, our T4 men preparing for priestly ordination took the Oath of Fidelity and Profession of Faith, affirming their commitment and fidelity to the mission of the Church. This is the last formal step before receiving their Call to Holy Orders from their bishop and their Ordinations later in the summer.  Please keep these men in your prayers as they continue in these final months before ordination.

“The Oath of Fidelity was a very special moment for me.  I was extremely lucky and blessed to find myself standing on the altar with my small but outstanding class.  Soon, we will all be in our home diocese and different parishes, and it means a lot to take these last steps toward Ordination together.  Not only that, to take a public Oath of Fidelity, to be unashamedly Catholic, is a freedom that inspires and pushes each of us to be holy disciples of Christ.  It is a beautiful ‘yes’ to all, which God blesses and gives us through His Church, and we are empowered by it to share those same gifts with our future parishioners.” –Deacon Jeff Merritt, Archdiocese of New Orleans
