Maybe I’m reading the wrong guys, but Ed Feser seems to be rare for an intellectual, a philosopher. In that he’s culturally educated. In The Last Superstition, Dr. Feser’s polemical response to the New Atheism, chapter titles hold references to Tarantino films and rock bands, while the book’s index contains page numbers for Keanu Reeves, Ben Stiller, Beethoven, and Fidel Castro. Feser has an informal, acerbic style that is reminiscent of writers like Lester Bangs and Chuck Klosterman, and it succeeds, as does his references, like waving keys in the air, drawing Youtubian minds into his metaphysical parlor. It helps that he’s also a Catholic Thomist who seems to be on the right side of every issue he tackles. Except maybe capital punishment. Feser speaks in Schulte Auditorium Friday, March 6th at 7. This is open to the public, while a Q&A with Dr. Feser in the Seminary Bib at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 7th is open to seminarians. What follows are my favorite blog posts from Feser, as well as a document of his AMA(Ask Me Anything).
