Putting On The New Man: Jorge Gomez Profiles of New Seminarians

By: Jason Songe, Seminarian, Archdiocese of New Orleans

Putting On The New Man is a series of the NDS Blog that will introduce the new faces you see in the seminary.

JORGE GOMEZ

My name is Jorge Gomez for the Archdiocese of New Orleans. I am in Theology 1. My favorite saints are St. Josemaría Escrivá and St. Thomas Aquinas. My favorite movies are the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. My favorite Bible verse is Psalm 62. I want to be a priest to be an instrument of God’s will and bring others to our salvation(the Beatific vision). Some favorite books are The Way by St. St. Josemaría Escrivá and The Priest In Union With Christ by Fr. Reginald Garrigou-Lagrange, O.P. The most interesting thing that has ever happened to me is following God’s will. By consenting to His will, and not knowing where exactly He is taking me, has been a great adventure. His plans have been way better than mine. I left Miami Florida to live in New Orleans. It would have never crossed my mind that I would have ended up here in the South. I enjoy recreational reading, working out, and hanging out with friends.
