Notre Dame Seminary Art Show:
Students Helping Students
Notre Dame Seminary will host an Art Show on Saturday, April 27th, from 5-9 pm in the Schulte Auditorium. Art from Notre Dame seminarians, St. Rita’s Catholic School students, as well as local and national artists will be on display. Proceeds will benefit Red Cloud Indian School (www.redcloudschool.org) on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota. Red Cloud is a Catholic mission school focusing on quality education, tuition assistance for secondary education, Catholic catechesis, and cultural preservation.
Most of the artwork will be available for purchase by suggested donation. The money raised from the art show will provide necessary assistance for Red Cloud School. Pine Ridge reservation is one of the most impoverished reservations in the United States. With a life-expectancy of 66 years, the average household income is only $9,000 dollars per year. At Red Cloud, donations are put to good use providing quality education for many reservation children with a scholarship fund which ensures secondary education that would otherwise be impossible. 95% of last years graduating class are now in 4 year universities, thanks entirely to the donations of all those who contribute to Red Cloud Indian School.
Please mark your calendars for The Art Show-NDS, on Saturday, April 27th, benefiting Red Cloud Indian School. Donations can also be made to Notre Dame Seminary, Memo: Red Cloud Donation, or Art Show-Donation.
