Liturgical Formation

Liturgical Formation

Liturgical formation is a cornerstone of priestly preparation, serving as a visible manifestation of a seminarian’s growth as he moves into parish ministry. At Notre Dame Seminary, men are equipped to fully participate in, celebrate, and preside over the Eucharist, the Sacraments, and various liturgical rites of the Roman Catholic Church. Seminarians experience different roles within the Mass, including serving as participants, schola members, lectors, and acolytes. To ensure broad exposure to the liturgical practices they will encounter in parish life, Masses in the Ordinary Form are celebrated regularly in English, Latin, and Spanish, with an annual Vietnamese Mass as part of the seminary’s TET celebration. Beyond the Mass, seminarians engage in the Liturgy of the Hours, Eucharistic Adoration, Benediction, and private devotions such as the Rosary and Divine Mercy Chaplet, deepening their spiritual formation and commitment to the Church’s prayer life.
