Director of Institute for Lay Ecclesial Ministry

Susie Veters graduated with a MA in Theology from Notre Dame Seminary in 2003. She is currently serving as the Director of the Institute of Lay Ecclesial Ministry of Notre Dame Seminary (ILEM). ILEM is a formation program for lay ecclesail ministers for the Archdiocese of New Orleans designed to prepare lay leaders, commissioned by Archbishop Aymond, to serve in parishes, schools and ministries in the Archdiocese. She is also a Certified Public Accountant. Susie has participated in and directed many programs of ministry in the Archdiocese of New Orleans, including the Evenings of the Engaged Program designed to prepare couples for marriage, retreat programs to strengthen marriage and families, and the promotion of Eucharistic Adoration as the first Director of the Office of Eucharistic Adoration in the Archdiocese of New Orleans. She is currently Treasurer and a founding Board member of Christ the Builder, a mission program that organizes mission trips for families and teenagers to build homes in impoverished areas. Along with her husband Pat, Susie is also Co-Chair of the Willwoods Community, which serves the Greater New Orleans area in many ways, including the provision of low-cost housing, senior living, and WLAE public television. She also serves on the Advisory Board of the Southern Dominican Province. Susie and her husband have three sons.
