Completing one week of classes, the seminarians hosted a poolside gathering as a way to continue building fraternity and community. The community is now comprised of 140 seminarians from 25 different dioceses and religious communities. There are over 40 seminarians whose home of origin is not the United States. The cultural and ethnic diversity at NDS represents the missionary dimension of our own mission of priestly formation program. On Friday, August 25, seminarians enjoyed a luau-themed party by the pool. There was cornhole, volleyball in the pool, limbo, refreshments, and gag prizes for the tackiest Hawaiian shirts. And, of course, several people were thrown in the pool.
