January 3, 2022
Dear Alumni of Notre Dame Seminary:
Greetings from Notre Dame Seminary and best wishes to you as we move into this New Year. I am writing to invite you and all the alumni of Notre Dame Seminary to our Annual Alumni Day Celebration on Thursday, February 24, 2022. Last year, we were not able to host the gathering due to the pandemic; therefore, we hope to welcome you back to campus this year.
As usual, we will honor and recognize those priests who celebrated their 5, 10, 25, 40, 50 and 60 year anniversaries last year as well as those observing an anniversary this year. We will host a business meeting at 10:00 a.m. in the Pastoral Center located in St. Joseph Hall. Archbishop Aymond will serve as celebrant for Mass at 11:30 a.m. Monsignor Daniel Torres from the Diocese of Lake Charles will be the guest homilist. Please bring an alb if you wish to concelebrate Mass. Following Mass, we will host the cocktail reception and lunch. The seminarians and faculty look forward to seeing as many alumni as possible.
At the Mass, we will posthumously honor Servant of God Fr. Joseph Verbis Lafleur, Alumnus of NDS, with the 2022 St. John Vianney Award. Fr. Mark Ledoux will accept on behalf of Fr. Lafleur.
Enclosed please find the RSVP information as well as a reminder about the alumni dues, which covers the cost of the lunch as well as funds one of the projects the seminarians request from alumni each year. You can also pay alumni dues and register for the event online at www.nds.edu/alumnidues. The deadline to register by mail or online is Friday, February 11, 2022. If you are not able to attend the gathering, we appreciate your support with the contribution of the dues.
May the Lord continue to bless your priestly ministry and the faithful you are serving. I am
Sincerely yours in the Lord,
Very Reverend James A. Wehner, S.T.D.
