2023 ILEM Commissioning

The Institute for Lay Ecclesial Ministry (ILEM) of Notre Dame Seminary is a 23-credit hour formation program for lay leaders throughout the Archdiocese of New Orleans whose purpose is to create a community of well-formed and well-educated lay ministers to assist the clergy of the archdiocese. This formation program culminates in a public commissioning ceremony, wherein they are commissioned to serve as Lay Ecclesial Ministers of the Archdiocese of New Orleans.

On January 15, Archbishop Gregory Aymond commissioned 14 new Lay Ecclesial Ministers during the 11 a.m. Mass at St. Louis Cathedral. There was a reception following the Mass and Commissioning Ceremony in the Cathedral Gardens.

Congratulations to the newly commissioned ILEM class of 2023.
