Dr. Jennifer Miller, Mr. Michael Piazza, and Mr. Mario Sacasa joined the ranks of the Notre Dame Seminary faculty this semester. On Sunday, August 24, the three new faculty members took the Oath of Fidelity during evening prayer in the chapel, in the presence of God and the NDS community. They promised: “In fulfilling the charge entrusted to me in the name of the Church, I shall hold fast to the deposit of faith in its entirety; I shall faithfully hand it on and explain it, and I shall avoid any teachings contrary to it.” The new faculty members and their families received a warm welcome from the Notre Dame Seminary community.
Dr. Miller joins the faculty as a professor of Moral Theology. Mr. Piazza is the Director of Sacred Music. Mr. Sacasa, who has provided counseling services in the past for the NDS community, now joins the faculty as the Assistant Director of Human Formation and the Director of Counseling Services.
At the conclusion of evening prayer, Fr. Jim Wehner gave a blessing to the new seminarians as they begin studies at NDS. The faculty and students then enjoyed a reception welcoming the new faculty members and new and returning seminarians followed by a community dinner, at which Fr. Wehner introduced the new kitchen staff to the seminary community.
